The teeth grip the impeller hub, never the housing. Six teeth on the Standard and nine on the Large bite into the old impeller while the bearing-driven mechanism helps the arms set for a controlled, straight pull. The threaded rod works against the pump shaft, not the bearing.

Measure the impeller across the vane tips at its widest point, not across the hub. If you service a range of vessels, carrying both models gives you the broadest coverage.
